Aunt Lenas Fruit Cake

• 1 cup butter (or margarine)
• 3 cups sifted flour
• 2 cup granulated sugar
• 2 cups raisins
• 1 cup nuts
• 1 jar ( 1 lb) candied fruit
• 2 tsp cinnamon
• 1/2 tsp cloves (I use 1/4 tsp)
• 1/2 tsp nutmeg
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 2 cup warm applesauce
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 2 tsp baking soda
• 1 tsp lemon extract
• 1 egg

Cooking Instructions

Cream Butter, Add sugar and blend well. Sift flour two times. Remove 1 cup flour and add to fruit mixture. Sift remaining flour, spice and salt. Dissolve Soda in applesauce. Add applesauce and flour mixture alternately to butter and sugar mixture. Add egg beat well. Stir in fruit & nuts add flavoring. Place in large greased loaf or bundt pan. Bake in slow 300 0r 325 oven for one hour or until done.
